What MCP is
The plug between an AI agent and this exchange.
An AI model is good at deciding what to do and incapable of doing it. It cannot see a price, read your positions or place an order unless something hands it those abilities. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the standard way of handing them over.
Think of it as a plug. A model on one side, a service on the other, and a fixed shape in the middle, so any model can talk to any service without either being rewritten for the other. Swapmos publishes such a plug. Point an agent at it and the agent can trade.
What the protocol actually is
A server publishes a list of tools. Each tool has a name, a description saying what it does and when to reach for it, and a schema listing the arguments it takes. An agent reads that list, picks a tool, sends arguments as JSON, and gets JSON back. That is the whole idea.
- tools/list asks what exists. An agent usually calls it once, at the start.
- tools/call runs one tool with arguments and returns its result.
- Both travel as JSON-RPC 2.0, a small envelope carrying a method, params and an id.
Nothing else is involved. There is no model inside the server, no training on what you send, and no account here that belongs to the agent. Swapmos answers a request and forgets it.
What this server gives an agent
- Market data. Every perpetual market, with prices, candles, order book depth, the public tape and funding rates.
- Swap quotes. Priced routes across chains, returned as unsigned transaction data.
- Public rankings. The leaderboard, by volume, profit or open size.
- Your account, once you supply credentials. Equity, free collateral, positions, orders and referral earnings.
- Trading, once you supply credentials. Place, close and cancel orders.
Who it is for
- Someone running a desktop AI client who wants to ask about a market in plain language instead of reading a terminal.
- A developer building an agent that watches positions and reports on them.
- Anyone automating a routine: a morning summary, a funding check, a risk alert before bed.
You do not have to write code to use it. A desktop client and a config file are enough. Connect is the next page.
