Use cases

Four workflows, with the tool order each one takes.

An agent is only as good as the sequence it picks. These are the four requests that come up most, written as the calls they turn into.

Open a 2x long on ETH

There is no leverage tool. Leverage is the ratio between a position and the collateral behind it, so an agent sets it by choosing the size, not by setting a number.

  1. 1get_platform_status. Is the venue up, is maintenance scheduled.
  2. 2list_markets with search eth. Take the symbol PERP_ETH_USDC, and read markPrice, minNotional and quantityStep.
  3. 3get_account_summary. Read freeCollateral. Twice that figure is the notional 2x means.
  4. 4Divide that notional by markPrice for a quantity in ETH, round it down to quantityStep, and check it still clears minNotional.
  5. 5list_positions. If ETH is already held, this order adds to that position rather than replacing it.
  6. 6Confirm market, direction, size and type back to the person, then place_order with symbol PERP_ETH_USDC, side BUY, type MARKET and that quantity.
There is no dry-run and no undo. A filled market order can only be reversed by trading back out at whatever the market is then.

Find the best yield

On perpetuals, yield is funding. It is a recurring payment between the two sides of a market, and one side is always receiving it.

  1. 1list_markets. Every row carries fundingRate, so a single call ranks the whole board.
  2. 2get_funding on the best two or three. It returns the current rate, the predicted next one and when the next payment lands.
  3. 3get_orderbook on the winner. A high rate on a thin book is not income, it is slippage.
  4. 4Decide the side. A positive rate means longs pay shorts, so the carry is earned by being short.
Funding is charged on notional, not on margin, and it runs the whole time a position is open. A carry trade still carries full directional risk: the rate is small and the price move is not.

Monitor liquidation risk

  1. 1get_account_summary. Compare marginRatio against maintenanceMarginRatio. The gap between them is the account's entire cushion.
  2. 2list_positions. Each row carries markPrice and estimatedLiquidationPrice. The distance between them, as a percentage, is how far the market can move before that position is closed for you.
  3. 3Rank by that distance. Anything inside a few percent is what the report should lead with.
  4. 4To act: close_position to cut it, or place_order with reduceOnly true to take part of it off.
  • Nothing here pushes. An agent has to poll, so give it a schedule rather than expecting to be woken.
  • The estimated liquidation price moves on its own, as funding and fees drain collateral, and under cross margin as other positions lose.
  • No tool adds collateral. A deposit is an on-chain transaction and happens in a browser.
  1. 1get_referral_status. It returns your codes, the share each gives you, how many people used it and what it has earned.
  2. 2Build the link from the code and hand it back.

The rebate split is fixed by the operator. No parameter raises it, and the tool cannot name who used a link: referees are counted, never identified.

A note on confirmation

place_order, close_position and cancel_order act on real funds at real leverage. Their descriptions say so, and a well-behaved agent will read back the market, direction, size and type before calling them. Build that step into your prompt rather than trusting it to appear.
